NSPE-KY - Louisville Chapter

The Louisville Chapter Partners Program was begun in 2005 as a way to increase attendance at Chapter meetings. In addition to getting improved speakers at the monthly meetings, the Partners Committee felt it was vital to get a consensus buy-in from the local public agencies. The initial Charter Partners of Louisville MSD, Louisville Water Company, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, the Louisville Regional Airport Authority, Metro Public Works, and the US Army Corps of Engineers paved the way for other companies to follow suit. At the end of the first year, Chapter attendance averages were consistently double of what they were previously, and those numbers have continued at that level to this day.

Proceeds from the Partners program support the Louisville Chapter website, the Louisville Chapter Scholarship Program, and reduced cost meals for the Speed School students and faculty at Chapter meetings. Each year at the Engineer’s Week Banquet, we try to recognize all KSPE Louisville Chapter Sponsors with a prize drawing.

The KSPE Partners Plan concept encourages key employers of engineers in the community to be active in the Louisville Chapter. Partners receive benefits including banner advertising on the website, free job postings on the Chapter website, the ability to have employees attend the monthly meetings as pre-paid members, and the ability to interact with their fellow members in a professional setting on a regular basis.
